About This Journal

JASN is a peer-reviewed, open-access publication dedicated to advancing research in applied sciences and nanotechnology. Established in 2021 by the College of Applied Sciences, University of Technology–Iraq, the journal provides a platform for disseminating original research and critical reviews that bridge theoretical foundations with practical innovations in science and engineering.

JASN publishes high-quality experimental and theoretical studies in areas such as applied mathematics, materials science, biotechnology, applied chemistry, applied physics, laser science and technology, and nanotechnology. Its mission is to promote interdisciplinary collaboration, foster the application of scientific principles to emerging technologies, and contribute to sustainable and innovative solutions that address real-world challenges.

JASN operates a double-blind peer-review process to ensure rigorous evaluation and uphold the highest scholarly standards. All manuscripts are screened for originality and plagiarism before review. Accepted papers are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), ensuring free access and broad dissemination of knowledge.

This journal follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to maintain integrity, transparency, and accountability throughout its editorial and publishing processes.

Journal History

JASN was founded in 2021 by the College of Applied Sciences, University of Technology–Iraq. Established as an open-access, peer-reviewed journal, it promotes high-quality research in applied sciences and nanotechnology. In 2025, JASN transitioned to the Digital Commons platform to expand global visibility, strengthen editorial workflows, and align with international publishing standards.

Publishing Schedule

JASN is published quarterly, with issues released in March, June, September, and December each year. Articles are published as part of complete issues following acceptance and final production. This regular schedule ensures timely dissemination of peer-reviewed research across all areas of applied sciences and nanotechnology.

Open Access Statement

JASN is an open access publication. All articles are freely available to read, download, and share immediately upon publication—without any subscription fees or access restrictions.

All content is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original authors and source are properly cited.

Authors retain the copyright of their work, granting JASN the right to publish and distribute it while allowing readers and researchers to reuse the content with appropriate attribution.

There is no embargo period and no registration requirement for accessing published articles. To cover the costs of open access, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is applied only to accepted articles from Iraq, while no APC is charged to authors from other countries.
